When Carol Reeves needed extra cash during the fall of 2008, she turned to her employer, Sheet Metal Workers’ Local Union 28. But she never told the union, where she worked as an office manager, what she was up to. Instead, Reeves went to great lengths to protect her nearly $20,000 secret, according to a felony plea agreement she signed in federal court Tuesday.
