Just what America needs, another unionized carrier–especially this one.

A Washington, D.C.-based union group has filed paperwork vying to represent flight attendants for Virgin America airlines.
The Transport Workers Union, which represents employees at airlines including United, American and Southwest, said Monday it has submitted a petition calling for a vote on unionization at Virgin America to the National Mediation Board (NMB).

The TWU said employees at Virgin America, which it said has 650 flight attendants who are based in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco, needed the assistance of a union.
“Flying Virgin can be enjoyable for passengers but flight attendants have a very different experience,” TWU organizing director Frank McCann said in a statement.
The TWU, ladies? Really?
Well, it was enjoyable while it lasted.

Good for the ITMs at Virgin America! Leading the way at a company that sorely needs union representation to ensure a consistently applied set of rules and reasonable path forward to a CAREER. If the people at the top can be opaid top dollar, then the workers that make it all happen deserve the very same. It goes far beyond “creating an airline that people love”. In the end you have to be able to live off your wages.
Good luck ITMs! having worked with you, I know you deserve to succeed in this endeavour, despite what this anti-union blog thinks.
Cheers
