Wisconsin Strike Basics

The Wisconsin teachers union situation is laughable. Thousands of union lackeys have been bussed in from other states as a sign of union solidarity. The press is painting this as a struggle between hard working teachers and their desire to remain unionized and keep their hard earned benefits. Those opposed to the concept of the teachers giving concessions for the sake of saving the state’s budget are labelled as Facists.

Teachers are saying “this isn’t about the budget, it’s about the unions.” Truer words have never been said. But given the size and length of their protest you would think that they have been asked to give up their first born or their right arm.

  1. Don says:

Some out of state people joined the unions at the State Capital, true but many more came from in state.

This is a fight about whether or not citizens wish to live in an oligarchy or not.

I work for UW Hospital, we are a for profit business that takes no tax monies from the private sector, why are we lumped in with the state union except for the union busting tactics of the oligarchy agenda?

If you aren’t in the top 1-2% or even the top 10% of income earners the loss of these rights will forever define the new slavery in the United States of America.

    Wake up people!

I looked at the Loud Talker website that you reference and it is full of lies. The Unions were and are willing to negotiate since they realize that they can be part of the solution. But the governor rejected their fairly generous offer because what he really wants is to eliminate the public sector unions, and to push the rest of his pro-corporate anti-people agenda. You know that this website is the first and only place that I have seen anyone in this conflict called a fascist.
