NSFW: NYC Union Workers Destroy Snow-Bound Ford Explorer

After Monday’s storm in the Northeast, this video is making its way around the internet and is rather amusing to watch (or infuriating, if you happen to be the owner of the Ford Explorer).

  1. Benevolus says:

Let’s see, the tow operator will throw the loader operator under the bus and say he was relying on the latter’s hand signals, which turned out to be wrong. And anyway, the truck driver was in the closed cab because of the cold and couldn’t hear the sound of collision and scraping metal. The union will back him up and he’ll get off scot-free.

That leaves the loader operator. He will claim that he was doing his best but that he received inadequate training, probably from an affirmative-action trainer who “didn’t speak no good English.” To avoid all that mess, they will probably suspend the operator for a few days and send him back to training.

Meanwhile, the claims adjusters will write checks to cover the “accidental” damage. Those checks will probably still be less than the cost of a major grievance and arbitration with the union.

My guess? One or both of them were drunk or high. I hope they did tests in time.
